Improve keyboarding speed and accuracy through detailed assessments, lessons and skill-building games in 2 weeks
Customer Rating: Summary: Good for all Comment: this program is good for all ages and skill levels for improving one's typing skills. It has been around for years and it is still one of the best on the market. Customer Rating: Summary: Typing Comment: I purchased Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing for my 7 year old grandson. He loves it! He is now constantly using it and doesn't want to quit for anything. He is learning to type and having fun. Customer Rating: Summary: Buggy! Comment: I was disappointed in this product. I'd tried a free download of an earlier version and liked it...but this version seemed to have a bug that I couldn't avoid. At a certain point, it advanced me from one level to another far ahead, omitting many lessons that I needed. I tried many ways around this, but it always behaved the same way. Customer Rating: Summary: Good for teaching kids to type/keyboard. Comment: This software loaded perfectly and works flawlessly for my kids (middle school-age). They follow the lessons easily. The practice games are a little young for them, but they don't object to them. The games do reinforce the lessons and provide a bit of a fun break.
Fifteen minutes, three times/week seems to be a good routine; and they are progressing.
Customer Rating: Summary: continues to be the best Comment: Excellent software for my children under 12 years old. Quickly becoming adaptable to the keyboard

The software development world is increasingly divided into three camps. If you want to create native Windows applications, the main languages used are C++, Visual Basic, or Object Pascal as used by Borland's Delphi product. Next comes Java, developed by Sun Microsystems, which compiles to an intermediate format that will run on any platform for which a Java Virtual Machine exists. Java is the natural choice for cross-platform work and ideal for learning thanks to its modern object-oriented features. Finally there is Internet development. Typically more than one language is involved, with popular choices include Java, Perl, Visual Basic and C++ on the Web server, along with JavaScript or Java applets to runs in the Web browser itself. You also need to learn Web standards including HTML and HTTP. Here you will find Programming Software
