Santuko is a Japanese-styled knif designed for quick cutting and slicing of meats and vegetables. The Kyocera Revolution series of ceramic knives feature an ergonomic handle with white ceramic blade. Kyocera Revolution ceramic cutlery features a thicker blade and a rounded tip for increased strength and rigidity.
Kyocera Ergonomic Series knives offer a new way to cut and prepare foods. The ceramic blades are half the weight of steel and are chemically inert, for a cleaner & healthier kitchen. They're moisture-resistant, tightly riveted in 3 places and retain their sharpness 10 times longer than standard steel knives.

Summary: Good for some things
Comment: I had never used a ceramic knife before but I was fascinated to try one. It works really well on fruits and vegetables but I prefer steel for meats. The edge is sharp but I like a little more heft. I'm happy I purchased it but I am glad it's not my only knife. I've used it quit a bit and it has remained sharp. Four stars seems appropriate ...

Comment: This knife is very sharp and light - great - just making sure I'm careful not to chip the edge!

Summary: Great Knife. Expensive. Short
Comment: We love this knife. It is quite expensive and I am not sure I am convinced yet that it is worth the money. It is a bit short at 5.5". For the money it should at least be 7", but still it has an amazing edge and my wife tends to use it as her primary knife. I prefer the 8" furi santoku.

Summary: Great Knife
Comment: I bought this for a friend as a gift. He looks for this knife at my house every time he comes to dinner. He likes to make the salad and this is wonderful for celery, carrots etc. I personally like it for everything and it is the knife I reach for first.

Useful: Grill

Grilling is a pervasive tradition in the United States. There are many cook-offs for steak grilling and good 'ole fashion barbecue (mid-western and southern style) around the United States with serious cash prizes involved in most. Almost all competition grillers use charcoal, most often in large, custom designed brick or steel grills. They can range from a few 55 gallon oil drums sawed lengthwise on their sides to make a lid and grill base, to large, vehicle sized grills made of brick, weighing nearly a ton.
