I got the gown in violet and when I open the package I was very pleased with the color. I was scared that it would be see-through since I was giving it to my mom (because of some of the reviews I read about lighter colors), but it wasn't at all. It is a medium color so I guess that is why. It is very, very soft and silky. My mom says it is very comfortable too. The only con she could come up with is that it could be longer. From the picture, I was hoping for a cute, light little black jersey or cotton nightgown. I thought this would make a perfect maternity or post-baby nightgown. I don't know what it is, but I don't like it. Yuck!
